Education
Electrical engineering at the University of Toronto, then law at the University of Leicester, then graduate legal study that has narrowed over time: a Master of Laws at the University of Toronto, followed by graduate study in public international law at Queen’s University and in administrative and criminal law at Osgoode Hall Law School.
The breadth has increasingly become concentration: from how engineered systems are designed and where they fail, to how state power is exercised, how responsibility is attributed and what the law requires before serious consequences follow.
